Carbon Offset
Man and the emissions we generate is a key contributor to global warming. The debate is no longer about global warming, but about how we can limit it. Sixt is working together with Tricorona and their activities with the development of UN-certified carbon offset projects, under the Kyoto agreement. Sixt is investing in carbon offsetting, which is UN-approved
At Sixt we are dedicated to continuously reduce our energy consumption and carbon footprint.
Among other things, by having a high proportion of clean vehicles in our car rental fleet, 50 per cent as of 1 January 2010.
Many people are mistaken when they believe that a BMW or Mercedes is environmental villains, they are often more environmentally friendly than other cars, take for example a BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Edition, with combined cycle and an emission of 109g CO2/km related to a Volvo S60 D3 combined with an emission of 154 g CO2/km. Click here for information on some of the green cars that are included in our car rental fleet.
In the glove compartment of our cars there is a leaflet describing how to run environmentally friendly and fuel efficient, and the extension of our environmental work before we are also voluntary carbon offsets for you as a rental car customer. The service means that you can compensate for the fossil emissions from your car rental, through our partner Tricorona on their website.
